CARLISLE, PA – Sadler Health has been selected as a 2022 Health Care Heroes recipient by the Central Penn Business Journal. Sadler offers comprehensive health care to residents in Cumberland and Perry County. Operating under a patient-centered medical home model, recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, a team of primary care providers guide the health care of this community, integrating behavioral health and dental services to ensure patients are treated in a holistic manner. Integral to the success of this program are the support services offered by our Community Health Worker Team.
According to Manal El Harrak, Sadler CEO, “The energetic Community Health Worker Team has a pulse on the community. They embody the culture of the community and build relationships throughout the area with service agencies, faith-based organizations, schools, municipalities, and more to maintain an awareness of the needs of the community.”
The work of this team includes making connections with individuals in need of assistance in accessing insurance, health care, housing, food, and other resources to sustain a healthy lifestyle. The team assists the most vulnerable members of our community – those who are homeless, unemployed, combatting mental health issues, seeking recovery from addiction, in need of life-sustaining medications and more. They work tirelessly to connect each and every person to the resources they need to create the environment for them to engage in preventative health care. They provides access to emergency assistance to those in need – offering the supplies needed to protect against the cold of winter, ensure food is available to enable families to thrive, arranging transportation and even delivering food, and more to patients homes when the need arises. Their assistance to date has provided meals to hundreds of families, engagement of many individuals in healthcare, protection to gain insurance, and access to affordable housing, all of which creates a healthier community.
Health Care Heroes recognize individuals and organizations who have had a positive impact on the quality of health care in Central Pennsylvania. The honorees were selected by Central Penn Business Journal editors. The winners will be honored April 7th at 1 pm at an online celebration. Also, honorees will be profiled in a magazine that will be inserted into the April 15th issue of Central Penn Business Journal and will be available online at CPBJ.com.
