Protect Your Child’s Health with Immunizations

One of the most effective ways to protect your child against serious diseases is through timely immunizations. Vaccines are safe, proven tools that prevent the spread of infectious diseases and keep your child healthy.

How Do Vaccines Work?

Vaccines help your child’s immune system recognize and fight off harmful diseases like measles, mumps, rubella and whooping cough before they can cause serious illness. By introducing a harmless piece of the disease-causing virus or bacteria, vaccines train the immune system to respond quickly and effectively if exposed in the future.

To learn more about how vaccines work, watch this informative video from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

How Effective Are Vaccines?

Vaccines are highly effective in preventing serious diseases. In fact, vaccines have led to the near elimination of many illnesses that once caused severe health problems in children.

Recommended Immunization Schedule

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides a comprehensive immunization schedule for children and adolescents. Following this schedule ensures your child receives the necessary vaccines at the right time.
